Schloß Schönbrunn

This morning I packed up my stuff,  had a quick breakfast, said goodbye to the german boys I'd made friends with next door and checked out. I was planning on  spending the rest of my time in Vienna at Schloß Schönbrunn

Schloß Schönbrunn was absolutely gorgeous. It was the summer palace of the Hapsburgs (sp?) when they were in charge of Austro-Hungary. The actual palace itself is a giant building and the gardens are massive - they even have a zoo (which I would have loved to go in but didn't). Both are beautiful.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to look round both so opted for the gardens and even then I probably only got round half, if that! I could easily spend a whole day in there.

I had decided to get an earlier train to Prague as the one I had planned to get didn't get in until midnight.

Although I think I saw all the main sights in Vienna,  I still feel as though there is so much more to see. Every street has beautiful buildings, even though many are just now offices or houses.

I would definitely like to come back here in the future. Two days just isn't enough.

P.s apologies my eyes are shut in the photo. It was too bright to open them!
