The bus tour was enjoyable enough, although there was little shade meaning I sweated so much I got stuck to the seat. Consequently, I spent the rest of the trip literally on the edge of my seat desperately trying to avoid another sticky situation.
I also learnt that the parliament building was inspired by London's houses of parliament. At least it's good for something.
I found a little Italian place for lunch -Trattoria Mamma. The fact I was the only person there worried me a bit but it was cheap and I'm not fussed. Means better service! I put it down to it being too hot during the day to eat a big meal.
Budapest serves my kind of coke. On a glass bottle with no ice or lemon. Just the way I like it. The only downside is that the bottles are so small it takes me two mouthfuls to finish them. A clever scheme perhaps, as it means I have to buy more than one.
The restaurant, like many others around Budapest, have fans that give out a fine mist of water that is blasted around by the fan. Its great for cooling you down until you get to close and get soaked. Then you have to whack out the straighteners.
I was going to try the hungarian place up the road but the hungarian cuisine just doesn't appeal to me; too much goulash and asparagus for my liking. Italian on the other hand.........
3 other people have just turned up. I'm not on my own after all. Also just turned up is my pizza. Time to put the metaphorical pen away.
